CHILDREN’S PRIZE DRAW AND PHOTOGRAPH COMPETITION

(“the Competition”) 

RULES OF ENTRY(“the Rules”) 

In the not too distant future the Bookham Vision Steering Committee will organise the distribution of a Survey Questionnaire (“the Survey”) to each household in Bookham as part of their research for the creation of the Village Plan.  Associated with this will be a Prize Draw and Photograph Competition for children in the household. 

Eligibility.  The Competition will be open to all children aged 5 years to 16 years inclusive. The Competition will be organised in 2 age groups, one for children from 5 to 11 years and one for children from 12 to 16 years (“Age Groups”). Each child is entitled to ONE entry only. 

Method of Entry.  Each child wishing to enter must obtain an entry “Sticker”.  Stickers will be distributed at the Old Barn Hall on Village Day, and thereafter will be available at various locations around the village, and if agreed by the schools, at the various schools in Bookham.  The Name, Age and Address of the child must be completed on the Sticker. When the Survey document is delivered to the household, it must be completed and the Sticker, or Stickers affixed to it where indicated.  Only Stickers attached to completed Survey documents will be entered into the Competition.  The final date for entry will be the date by which the Survey document must be returned, which will be published on that document.

 Prize Draw.  All Stickers returned will be separated into the 2 Age Groups and then all Stickers in each Age Group will be entered into a Prize Draw for that Age group. A draw for each Age Group will be made at a public event organised by the Bookham Vision Steering Committee, notice of which will be publicised on the Bookham Vision Website – www.bookhamvision.org. The will be ONE prize for each Age Group and the first Sticker drawn will be the winner. For the 5 to 11 years old Age Group the prize will be a Nintendo DS Lite (and two games).  For the 12 to 16 years old Age Group the prize will be a Panasonic Lumix digital camera. 

Photograph Competition.  All Stickers returned, irrespective of Age Group, will entitle the child to receive a disposable camera.  This will be delivered to the address of the child soon after the closing date for return of the Survey document. Full details will be published on the Bookham Vision website - www.bookhamvision.org - at the time. The child then may enter the Photo Competition by taking photographs of things they LIKE about Bookham.  The photographs must be developed and returned as described in the information that will come with the camera.  ALL photographs returned will be judged by the Bookham Vision Steering Committee and 3 will be chosen to receive a prize.  The prizes will be a token/voucher to the value of £25 in each case. All photographs returned will become the property and copyright of Bookham Vision and may be used as it thinks fit, for publicity or other purposes.  Many will be published on the Bookham Vision website. 

Jurisdiction. This Competition is being run by the Bookham Vision Steering Committee (“the Committee”). The decision of this Committee shall be final in all aspects of the organisation and management of the Competition, and in particular with the interpretation of these Rules and any errors or omissions therein.
