Article from the Bookham Broadsheet (BRA Journal) Bookham Vision – we’ve unearthed some interesting stuff - come to the AGM and find out what … These past few months have been a busy time for the Bookham Vision team. We’ve gathered data from many and varied public sources about Bookham -its population, its economy, environmental issues and transport related matters. At the same time we’ve asked the people of Bookham for their initial views of Bookham life, in the form of likes, dislikes and wishes. Hopefully you will all have seen the simple survey we sent out. - after all we delivered it to every house! Hopefully you have completed it and sent it back to us. However, many of you have not. If you did not, does this mean that you do not care about the future of Bookham, that you do not have any opinion at all? Are you just prepared just to let things happen, or let others decide for you? We’ve held our road shows around the village which were another chance for people to give us their views as we close out this initial phase of data collection. This phase of the project was designed to steer us towards the key issues on your mind. To find out what your neighbours have been telling us please come to the AGM on April 25th, where Trevor Sokell, Chairman of the Bookham Vision Steering Committee, will be giving a presentation on progress to date and what we plan to do in the future. We’ve uncovered some interesting things about the village in which we live, and we’ve had some of your views on a wide range of topics – we’d like to share them.
